Marc David Carlson Scholarship

The Marc Carlson Scholarship was formed through memorial and scholarship monetary gifts received in memory of Marc. 

Marc was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy early in life.  Even though he was in a wheel chair, he did not let his situation deter him from what he thought was important. Marc enjoyed school, being the salutatorian of the class of 1988.  He was also active in sports, taking stats for the Eagles.  Marc went to Northern Michigan University for two years majoring in biology before his death in 1992. 

Marc’s courage and determination to succeed despite his handicap, served us as an inspiration to all who knew him and for his sprit to live on.

• A graduate of Engadine High School who intends to further their education in Biology, Math, or Physical Education
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Have demonstrated good citizenship and high moral values
